Today’s Delight of the Day is the Linen Blazer from Ralph Lauren, on sale for only $69.99! The end of summer sales have been great this year, and this blazer is no exception. While there is a school of thought that says you shouldn’t wear linen after Labor Day, I think it’s totally okay when it’s still this hot. Pair it with some navy shorts and cute wedges for the perfect end of summer look!

Ralph Lauren is offering 40-70% off their sale items, so definitely check it out if you haven’t already!

Also, don’t forget to enter my Smathers & Branson giveaway! It ends tonight at midnight!

Today’s Delight of the Day is the Team USA Grosgrain Belt from Ralph Lauren, $85. Ralph Lauren has been designing the US Olympic Collection for years, and each collection has been incredible. Obviously everything has an athletic vibe, but even we preps need to dress down some days. Aside from the belt, I also really love this Create Your Own Track Jacket. But back to the belt: belts are a great way to add something different to an outfit, and this red, white, and blue belt will add a patriotic flair to anything you own. It’s simple and classic – just like the Ralph Lauren brand. Enjoy!

Preps love America. It’s in our blood. Some of us have ancestors who rode over on the Mayflower, and, even if yours didn’t come over until the 1900′s, I know you still bleed red, white, and blue. Today’s post focuses on some of my favorite patriotic preppy items – just in time for July 4th. I’d love to see pictures of you in your most patriotic outfits!

Today’s Delight of the Day is the Maritime Striped Cotton-jersey Dress by J.Crew, $98. I’m slightly upset that I just purchased a similar dress from Ralph Lauren, as I adore the anchor detail in the front! This dress is super cute, and the high hemline balances out the looser look. You can always have it taken in on the sides though or pair with a skinny belt so it doesn’t look baggy. Bon voyage!

Today’s Delight of the Day is the Greville Tie-Stripe Rugby from Rugby by Ralph Lauren, $49.99. I love that Rugby included the stripe tie detail on the collar to give this shirt a little something extra. I own a million of these shirts, and I definitely recommend them to everyone. They’re well made, they fit nicely, and they’re super adorable. Perfect for any prepster!

So I’m pretty much the luckiest girl in the world and was invited on a two week trip to Hilton Head, starting tomorrow – my 23 birthday! As such, I’m going to take the next two weeks off on my blog. I’ll still be tweeting away, so if you need your daily dose of Preppy Delight, you can head on over to my Twitter page.

Before I leave, I figured a beach post would be appropriate. Every prep loves his or her beach vacation, so I’m going to share my favorite beach essentials. Hope you enjoy!

Notte Stellata from Shabby Apple, $78

Seersucker Swimsuits from J.Crew, $29.99-82.00

Odette Striped Bikini – Top, $100 and Bottom, $104

Biscayne Bay Bow Bikini Top from Heidi Klein – Top, $168 and Bottom, $136

Everette Seahorse Swim Trunks from J.McLaughlin, $95

Open Shoulder Cover-up from Victoria’s Secret, $59.50

Script Sunglasses from Pineapple Grove Gifts, $36.50

Folding Wayfarers from Ray-Ban, $150
(I personally own these, and I LOVE them. Worth every penny!)

Seersucker Frat Hat from Southern Proper, $25

USA Team Beach Towel from Ralph Lauren, $60

Everyday Beach Towel from Vineyard Vines, $95

Leather Sandals from Rainbow, $48.99
(These flip flops are my absolute favorite. If they break, Rainbow will actually replace them!)

Warehouse Canvas Spot Shopper from ASOS, $48.71

Sorority Tote from Vineyard Vines, $95
(Obviously not everyone is a Kappa, but they also have other sorority prints, university prints, and several other options!)

And last but not least: do NOT forget your sunscreen! Leathery skin isn’t cute on anyone, and I don’t want any of you to have to deal with skin cancer. Ever. My favorite sunscreen is Neutrogena’s Ultra Sheer formula, which you can get in an aerosol can or a regular bottle! Oh, and this SPF 50 ChapStick. You don’t want burnt lips, either.

Being preppy isn’t only about owning every single Delight of the Day. It’s all encompassing – your clothing style, your interests, the sports you play and watch, what you do for fun, where you spend your summers, and also how you decorate your home. As a graduate who still lives at home and hopes to move out in the very near future, I’ve started paying a lot of attention to how I want to decorate my first place. Aside from the kitchen (you know I love to bake!), the bedroom is the most important room for me. I’m a total grouch unless I get my eight hours, so I need my bedroom to be my own paradise. In the hunt for the perfect duvet, I’ve stumbled upon quite a few preppy options. Sweet dreams!

I LOVE this bedding, but, unfortunately, it’s only available in a twin size. Perfect for college dorms, though!
